Metallic Details MDR4865 provides resin replacement wheels with covered wheel faces for the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress in 1/48. This set is aimed at the “cover disc” style wheel look, where the hub area reads as a clean, uniform circle.
Covered wheel faces can change the visual balance of the landing gear area, especially on side views where the wheel center is easy to spot. Use this set when your chosen build reference shows the covered style rather than an open hub.
For modelers: dry-fit the wheel to the kit axle to confirm the seating depth and alignment before glue. If needed, adjust the mounting hole gradually for a snug fit. Paint the tire first, then finish the cover disc area to keep the edge line tidy.
