Metallic Details MDR7288 3D Printed Set provides parts to detail one Bristol Mercury radial engine in 1/72. An exposed or partially visible radial benefits from sharper cylinder finning and a more defined front face, especially on open-cowling or wide-opening cowling designs.
The Bristol Mercury is a nine-cylinder air-cooled radial engine used on many aircraft types. This set is listed as universal and can be applied to 1/72 projects where a Mercury engine is appropriate for the subject you are building (application-dependent).
For modelers: dry-fit the engine inside the kit cowling early and check both diameter and depth so the propeller hub position stays correct. Prime to reveal fin edges, then paint in thin layers; pick out pushrods and wiring with a fine brush, and add a controlled wash to bring out cylinder detail without filling the relief.
