Description
Metallic Details MDR3247 is a 3D-printed engine detailing set in 1/32 to build one Bristol Taurus engine. In this scale, the engine face and cylinder spacing are highly visible, so sharper cylinder definition and a cleaner front profile help the model read correctly even if only part of the engine is exposed behind a cowling.
This is an upgrade parts set only; the aircraft kit is not included.
Applications listed for this engine include Bristol Type 148, Bristol Beaufort, Fairey Albacore, Fairey Battle, and Gloster F.9/37. Fit and integration depend on the kit’s cowling depth and how the manufacturer represents the engine mount and firewall.
For modelers: decide early whether your build will show the full engine face or only a partial view through the cowling opening. Test-fit the engine against the firewall and inside the cowling to confirm depth and clearance (kit-dependent). Prime lightly after washing to keep cooling-fin detail crisp, paint the cylinders and crankcase separately if your workflow allows, then add subtle dry-brushing to pick up edges without flooding fine detail.

FAQ
How many engines does the set build?
The set is intended to build one Bristol Taurus engine.
Will it fit any 1/32 kit of the listed aircraft?
The set is listed as universal, but cowlings and firewalls vary by tooling. Dry-fit to confirm engine depth and clearance inside your kit’s cowling.
What is a practical painting approach for a 3D-printed radial engine?
Prime lightly, paint cylinders and crankcase separately if possible, then use controlled highlighting on raised edges. Test-fit again before final installation to ensure the engine face sits at the intended depth.
