The Comet 4C was developed as a longer-range version of the Comet 4, featuring increased fuel capacity to support intercontinental passenger routes. This variant marked the final and most capable stage of Comet development, addressing earlier limitations and enabling regular long-distance jet travel.
Operated by several international airlines, the Comet 4C played a transitional role in the early jet age, bridging the gap between pioneering jet airliners and later wide adoption of long-range commercial jet transport during the late 1950s and early Cold War period.
