ResKit RSU48-0407 is an aftermarket accessory for aircraft scale model kits, providing F.O.D. covers for the F-105 Thunderchief intake area in 1/48 scale.
This 3D printed resin set represents intake protective covers commonly seen on parked aircraft. The parts emphasize clean edges and defined cover contours, helping the intake openings look consistent without the need to build full intake trunk interiors.
On F-105 Thunderchief models the intake area is a prominent visual element along the fuselage sides. Adding F.O.D. covers allows the modeler to depict an aircraft on the ground while simplifying the intake interior treatment.
For modelers: test-fit the covers against the intake lip before painting. Light sanding on the contact edges may improve seating. After priming, paint the covers separately and attach them at the final assembly stage to avoid masking around the intake area.
