Description
Metallic Details MDR48245 is a set of resin and 3D-printed parts for detailing the landing gear and wheels on the F-35A in 1/48, recommended for the Tamiya kit. The focus is on the “sit” of the model: sharper strut shapes, cleaner wheel detail, and more defined small features that are very noticeable on a modern single-seat aircraft when viewed from below.
This upgrade is most useful if you plan an open-bay, gear-down display or a clean base presentation where the undercarriage becomes part of the model’s overall finish quality (kit-dependent).
The F-35A is a modern CTOL aircraft variant. This set is intended to refine the landing gear and wheel areas only and does not change the airframe configuration; final appearance will depend on your painting and weathering approach.
For modelers: dry-fit the struts and wheel parts early and check alignment to keep the stance square before glue. Wash resin/printed parts to remove residue, then prime to reveal any remaining print texture; when installing, confirm wheel contact points on a flat surface and let assemblies cure fully before handling.
