Metallic Details MD3515 Photo-Etched Set provides fern leaves for scenic work on dioramas in 1/35. The etched leaf shapes help you build crisp foliage edges and layered fronds that stay consistent across repeated plants.
Fern foliage is useful for breaking up flat ground areas and framing vehicles, figures, or structures without pulling attention away from the main subject. Use the leaves as standalone plants or as part of mixed vegetation clusters depending on your scene layout.
For modelers: slightly curve the leaves before painting to avoid a “flat fret” look. Prime first, then build color in thin layers; finish with a light dry-brush on raised edges to bring out the leaf structure. Test-fit placement with blu-tack before committing to glue, especially where plants overlap rocks, roots, or groundwork textures.
