Description
Metallic Details MDR3235 3D Printed Set provides a replacement/detail cowling with engine for the Gloster Gladiator in 1/32, designed for the ICM kit. The unique focus is the “nose module”: on a radial-engined biplane, the cowling opening and engine face are constant visual anchors, and improving depth and edge sharpness here can upgrade the whole model.
The Gladiator’s front end combines curved cowling surfaces with exposed engine detail. This upgrade set is intended to refine that area while remaining compatible with the kit’s overall layout (final fit depends on your kit parts and how you handle the fuselage-to-cowling join).
For modelers: test-fit the printed cowling to the fuselage halves before painting and confirm the thrust line stays centered. Paint the engine separately, then install it into the cowling and check visibility through the opening before final glue. Keep sanding and seam work on the cowling join minimal by adjusting contact points first; once aligned, use thin adhesive and let it cure fully before handling rigging or cabane struts.

FAQ
Is this set designed for the ICM 1/32 kit?
Yes. The set is listed for the ICM Gloster Gladiator kit in 1/32. Dry-fit the cowling-to-fuselage join to confirm alignment before gluing.
Should I paint the engine before installing it into the cowling?
Yes. Painting the engine separately usually gives cleaner results, then you can set the engine depth and check what remains visible through the cowling opening.
What is the key fit check for a nose upgrade like this?
Confirm the cowling sits centered on the fuselage and that the thrust line is straight. Small misalignment at the nose becomes obvious once the propeller and struts are in place.
