Description
FCM 36 French light tank is represented in this 1/35 scale plastic model kit by ICM, depicting a vehicle captured and later used in German service during World War II. The FCM 36 was originally developed in France as a light infantry support tank with distinctive sloped armor and a welded hull design.
Introduced in the late 1930s, the FCM 36 featured diesel power and a compact armored layout. After the 1940 campaign in Western Europe, a number of these tanks were captured and reused by German forces for various secondary duties and training roles.

The FCM 36 was notable for its welded construction and angled armor surfaces, which were relatively advanced design features for its time. Though produced in limited numbers, the type remains an interesting example of early armored vehicle development and wartime reuse of captured equipment.
For modelers: Light tanks with compact hulls benefit from careful alignment of the running gear and tracks before final installation. Painting the road wheels and lower hull components prior to mounting the tracks can simplify the finishing process.
