Metallic Details MD14439 Detail Set combines photo-etched parts with small resin (3D-printed) items to refine the exterior of an Ilyushin Il-86 build in 1/144 for the Zvezda kit. A key focus is the front landing gear area, where included landing light parts help make the nose section look more defined.
The Il-86 is a wide-body four-engined jet airliner, and its exterior finish depends on clean geometry and consistent small features. This set is intended to support sharper edges and clearer light-area detail while keeping the overall build workflow straightforward.
For modelers: treat the resin (3D-printed) landing lights as a separate sub-assembly. Test-fit the parts to the gear bay/strut area before painting, then paint the light recess and surround first, and attach the clear/reflective detail last to avoid fogging. For PE, use tiny CA dots and check alignment from multiple angles before it sets.
