Metallic Details MD14425 is a Photo-Etched Set for external detailing of the Ilyushin IL-62 in 1/144, recommended for the Zvezda kit. The set includes a single PE board and is intended to refine small exterior elements with thinner, more scale-like parts.
On airliner subjects in 1/144, crisp edges around fine surface features can make a noticeable difference in the final finish. This set focuses on exterior detailing so you can sharpen those small areas without adding bulk or reworking major assemblies.
The IL-62 is a long-range narrow-body jet airliner. This upgrade targets exterior definition, helping you keep the build centered on clean surfaces, consistent alignment, and tidy paintwork.
For modelers: plan the PE steps before painting: identify which parts must be installed pre-paint and which can be added after the main colors. Use a smooth sanding pass to remove any raised kit detail only where the PE replaces it, then test-fit and align symmetrically (left/right) before fixing with thin CA.
