Description
Metallic Details MD7219 is a Photo-Etched Set for detailing the wheel bays on a Lockheed C-130 Hercules build in 1/72, recommended for the Zvezda kit. The set targets the “busy” look inside bays—thin structural faces and small edges that can appear soft or oversized when molded as one piece.
The C-130 is a four-engine turboprop transport aircraft with prominent landing gear areas. Enhancing the bay interiors helps when the model is displayed on its gear, especially under direct light where flat kit surfaces can look empty.
For modelers: treat the bays as a mini-project. Test-fit the PE against the bay walls before paint, and adjust folds in small steps to avoid kinks. Paint the bay base color first, then add the PE and finish with a controlled wash to separate layers. If you plan to add hydraulic lines, do it after the PE is fixed so you can route wiring around the new surfaces.
