Description
Metallic Details MD3511 is a photo-etched set for making maple leaves on diorama bases in 1/35. It’s intended for ground cover and scattered foliage effects where leaf edges and vein shapes benefit from thin metal parts.
This set is useful when you want repeatable leaf silhouettes for paths, curb lines, or accumulated leaf piles, with consistent size and shape that’s hard to achieve by cutting paper one-by-one.
Maple leaves are a neutral flora element that fits many scene types. Use them as loose ground detail, layered leaf litter, or as accents around small obstacles to add scale reference without tying the project to a specific vehicle or era.
For modelers: prime the leaves on the fret (or on tape after removal) to improve paint adhesion, then paint in several tones and mix them while placing. Fix with small dots of PVA/white glue so you can adjust overlap and avoid a flat, “one-layer” look; add the leaves after groundwork pigments are sealed.
