Martin JRM-1 “Marshall Mars” aircraft model kit in 1:72 scale represents one of the largest flying boats ever built, developed for long-range transport operations by the United States Navy.
The JRM-1 Mars series was designed by the Glenn L. Martin Company during World War II as a strategic transport flying boat capable of carrying large payloads over oceanic distances. The Marshall Mars was one of the early production aircraft and served primarily in logistics and personnel transport roles across the Pacific.
After its military service, aircraft of the Mars family became widely known for their postwar conversion into aerial firefighting water bombers, further extending their operational legacy into the Cold War period and beyond.
