Description
Metallic Details MDM4801 Painting Masks are self-adhesive canopy masks for a F/A-18C build in 1/48 for the HobbyBoss kit. The practical goal is clean, consistent canopy frame edges without spending time cutting tape to match curved glazing lines.
The F/A-18C canopy has multiple framed sections and tight corners that can show uneven edges if masking shifts during painting. This mask set is made to speed up the glazing stage and keep the frame layout controlled while you work through primer, interior frame color, and the final exterior color.
For modelers: wash the clear parts, let them fully dry, then test-fit each mask segment before pressing down. Burnish edges with a cotton swab and lightly seal the perimeter with a thin clear coat to reduce paint creep. Remove masks after the paint has set but before it fully hardens, and pull them back over themselves to avoid lifting surrounding paint.
