Description
Panzerwaffe Steel Cats is a 1/35 scale plastic model tank kit set by ICM featuring two well-known German armored vehicles of World War II: the Pz.Kpfw.V Panther Ausf.D and the Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.B King Tiger. This set combines two heavy armored vehicles that represent different stages of German tank development during the later years of the conflict.
The Panther Ausf.D entered service in 1943 as a medium tank designed to combine mobility, protection, and firepower. The Tiger II, also known as the King Tiger, appeared later in the war as a heavily armored vehicle intended to provide long-range anti-armor capability and strong battlefield presence.
Panther Ausf.D and King Tiger Ausf.B - German Armored Vehicles of World War II
The Panther and Tiger II became among the most recognizable armored vehicles of the period. While the Panther was designed as a balanced medium tank platform, the Tiger II represented a heavier class with reinforced armor and a powerful main gun.
For modelers: Building two tanks from the same set allows a consistent painting approach for camouflage patterns and weathering effects. Painting road wheels, tracks, and lower hull components separately before final assembly can simplify finishing work.
