Metallic Details MD4853 is a photo-etched bracing detailing set for the Polikarpov I-15 and Polikarpov I-153 in 1/48, designed for ICM and AMG kits. It focuses on the biplane bracing elements that define the wing-bay look and can appear thick or simplified when represented only by plastic parts.
On biplanes, the visual “structure” between wings is a key feature even on a clean build. This set helps refine those external bracing points in a controlled, repeatable way, without turning the project into full scratch-built rigging.
For modelers: plan the assembly order before you close the wing cellule. Test-fit the PE bracing with wings dry-mounted to confirm angles and symmetry, then attach with small amounts of CA. Work from the center outward and re-check alignment after each pair so the upper wing stays level; leave final tension/straightness adjustments for the last steps before paint touch-ups.
