Description
Metallic Details MDR4845 upgrades the bomb bay area of an S-3A/B Viking build in 1/48, designed for the Italeri kit. The set combines resin and photo-etched parts to add bay structure, wiring detail, plus stores and mounts including four Mk-46 torpedoes and their holders for an open-bay display.
The S-3 Viking has a compact internal bay that becomes a focal point when doors are posed open. This set is intended to add depth and “busy” internal texture while keeping the result dependent on your kit configuration and chosen door position.
For modelers: plan the bay as a sub-assembly. Dry-fit the resin bay parts inside the fuselage before closing it, then paint the bay interior first and add wiring/PE after the base coat so fine pieces stay sharp. Assemble and paint the torpedoes separately, and only install stores and holders at the end to avoid damage during handling.
