Metallic Details MDR7277 is a 3D-printed cockpit upgrade set for the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird in 1/72, providing parts to detail two ejection seats. The “angle” for this set is cockpit visibility: even in small scale, seat shapes and headbox detail remain noticeable through the SR-71 canopy.
The SR-71 is a long-range reconnaissance aircraft with a two-seat cockpit layout. This set is intended as a universal seat upgrade for 1/72 SR-71 builds (kit-dependent), supporting projects where you want sharper seat definition than typical one-piece kit parts.
For modelers: test-fit both seats in the cockpit tub before paint to confirm height and canopy clearance. Prime first to check for print texture, paint the seats as separate subassemblies, and install them after most cockpit work is finished to avoid scuffing; add harness detail only after the main seat colors are sealed.
