Description
Metallic Details MD4850 is a photo-etched set for protective air intake grilles on 1/48 Sukhoi Su-27 / Su-27UB / Su-30SM builds, recommended for Kitty Hawk kits. Intake screens are thin parts in real life; PE helps keep the grille pattern sharp and avoids the “thick plastic mesh” look.
These aircraft are closely related within the Su-27 family. The set focuses specifically on the intake protection grille area, supporting a cleaner intake face and more consistent symmetry on both sides (kit- and variant-dependent).
For modelers: test-fit the grilles against the kit intake openings before paint and confirm any curvature needed. If shaping is required, lightly pre-bend over a rounded tool; attach with small CA dots along the perimeter. Paint the intake interior first, then add the grilles and finish with light touch-ups to keep the mesh pattern open.
