ResKit RS72-0469 represents the SUU-16A 20mm gun pod (closed gun bay) with dedicated centerline pylon for the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II (C/D) in 1/72. The set combines refined pod body contours with a matching mounting solution for accurate centerline installation.

On early F-4C and F-4D builds, the external gun pod configuration is a defining feature. Replacing simplified kit parts with a dedicated 3D printed SUU-16A and pylon can enhance symmetry and structural detail along the aircraft centerline.
For modelers: test-fit the pylon to the fuselage before attaching the pod. Ensure the assembly sits straight when viewed from front and side angles, and keep the mounting surface flat so the pod remains parallel to the aircraft centerline.
