Description
ResKit RSU48-0552 is a 3D printed aftermarket accessory designed for aircraft scale model kits, representing the 1500 litre underwing external fuel tanks used on the Panavia Tornado. The set is intended for accurate 1/48 scale aircraft model builds and includes two riveted external tanks commonly carried by Tornado aircraft.
These external tanks were widely used on RAF and RSAF Tornado aircraft, including interceptor and strike variants. The riveted construction is reproduced to match the structural appearance of operational fuel tanks mounted under the wings.
External fuel tanks are an important part of the Tornado’s operational configuration, extending range and endurance during long missions. Installing correctly shaped tanks improves the realism of the aircraft’s underwing stores arrangement.
For modelers: dry-fit the tanks with the wing pylons before final installation to confirm correct alignment and spacing. Carefully remove support points from the 3D printed parts and lightly smooth the contact surfaces before priming and painting.
