Metallic Details MDR7265 is a resin (3D-printed) engine detailing set for the Wright R-2600 Twin Cyclone in 1/72, providing parts to build one engine. It’s intended for projects where the engine face is visible through an open cowling or a thin front opening, and where kit engines can look flat at this scale.
The Wright R-2600 was used across multiple aircraft types in the 1930s–1940s. This set is a universal upgrade for compatible 1/72 kits that represent an R-2600 installation; final fit depends on your kit’s cowling diameter, firewall depth, and prop shaft arrangement.
For modelers: test-fit the engine inside the cowling before paint to confirm clearance and centering. Prime lightly to preserve fine cylinder detail, then use a thin wash to bring out cooling-fin depth. If the cowling is tight, sand the inside lip in small steps and re-test rather than forcing the part.
